Roasted chickpeas are a healthy snack, and what’s great, is that you can make them with so many different flavor combinations! I recently sprouted some chickpeas, and had been contemplating what to do with them when I decided to roast them into little delicious maple cinnamon snacks.
Roasting chickpeas is pretty simple, the trick is to thoroughly dry them before seasoning and baking. If you bake them while they are still wet, they will be chewy and soft, and won’t have the desired crunch that makes roasted chickpeas a perfect alternative to chips.
Here is my recipe for Cinnamon Maple Roasted Chickpeas:
Ingredients:
1 Cup Chickpeas (Cooked, Canned, or Sprouted)
1/2 tsp Vegetable Oil
1 tsp Maple Syrup
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
Method:
Preheat oven to 350′
Lay the chickpeas on a paper towel or clean dish towel, and pat-dry the chickpeas.
In a medium bowl, toss the chickpeas with vegetable oil.
Add the maple syrup and cinnamon, and toss until coated.
Place chickpeas on a parchment lined baking sheet, try to avoid letting any chickpeas touch one another.
Bake for 30 minutes.
Let cool and Enjoy!
